Bryson's Animal Shelter Logo

BRIEF_
Can a new logo be designed to help with Bryson’s Animal Shelter identity?

BACKGROUND_
Bill & Marion Bryson founded Bryson’s Animal Shelter in 1947 to provide sanctuary and a home for retired and ill-treated horses and ponies. Over the years, the shelter has expanded and now also offers shelter for dogs, cats and other animals. The Shelter is commonly known as ‘Brysons’ however is registered as NCHPS. Brysons is an independent charity that provides temporary care and shelter for stray, abandoned and relinquished animals, and tries to place as many animals as possible into responsible and caring homes.

OBJECTIVES_
Increase Bryson’s presence by improving their identity to the public by designing a new logo.

INSIGHTS_
• Only 1 person out of 55* recognise Bryson’s Animal Shelter Logo.
• A logo makes you stand out from the competition.
• A logo reflects the values and gives an idea of it’s identity.
• A logo builds brand recognition.
INITIAL IDEAS_
The sketches show my initial ideas after conducting my research. The main feedback I received was to focus on what makes Brysons stand out and different compared to other animal shelters.
DEVELOPMENT_
From my initial sketches I went on to develop my designs in illustrator, experimenting with different shapes, layouts and fonts.
FINAL IDEA_
My final design I feel represents the uniqueness of Brysons, from its roots of starting as horse shelter to the friendly and caring shelter it is today. Most importantly it communicates that Brysons is ‘a home for ALL animals.’
